Medicine Wind Raga Bamboo Whistle (D)
This Medicine Wind bamboo whistle is made by hand in Florida, USA by George Tortorelli, a flute maker with over 35 years of experience.
It is played like a tin whistle or a recorder, it is very easy to blow and to hold. Everything you play will have a very eastern / arabian melodic character to it because of the way it is tuned.
This flute is very similar to the Arabian Pennywhistle that Erik the Flutemaker makes.
How to play this tin whistle?
- Blow into the mouthpiece at the end of the flute
- It's very easy, just like blowing a recorder
- It doesn't require a lot of air like many wind instruments
- It does require more air than the average tin whistle
